UVic Bounce

Working to Change Campus Culture, One Story at a Time

UVic Bounce is an initiative funded by a University of Victoria Strategic Framework Impact Fund grant and by the Faculty of Humanities. Through videos, podcasts, and live events, UVic Bounce shares the stories of UVic faculty and alumni’s experiences as students, with the aim of creating a more compassionate, supportive, humane, and loving campus culture in which students, staff, and faculty are able to thrive. These are stories of loss, transitions, academic pressures, mental health, and much more. We believe that by sharing our stories, we not only deepen our connections to each other, but we also reduce stigma, and build a more inclusive, supportive, and resilient university community.  Our stories connect us and remind us that we are not alone when we journey through difficult times and experiences.

"We are story. All of us. What comes to matter then is the creation of the best possible story we can while we’re here; you, me, us, together. When we can do that and we take the time to share those stories with each other, we get bigger inside, we see each other, we recognize our kinship–we change the world, one story at a time…”
